In the third quarter of 2024, the travel and local apps sector in Saudi Arabia saw interesting trends across various leading applications. According to data from Sensor Tower, here are the highlights of the top five apps in this category.

Nusuk | نسك from the Ministry Of Haj & Umrah experienced a consistent rise in weekly downloads, starting at about 56K in early July and peaking at approximately 64K by mid-August. Following this peak, downloads slightly decreased, closing the quarter at around 46K. The app maintained a robust user base with weekly active users ranging from 412K to over 504K.

Wego - Flights, Hotels, Travel exhibited a more fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, beginning at 32K, experiencing a dip in August, and ending the quarter at about 20K. Weekly active users remained fairly stable, fluctuating between 251K and 281K throughout the quarter.

flyadeal App showed notable activity in weekly downloads, with a significant spike to 72K in mid-September before settling back to 23K by the end of the quarter. The app also saw an increase in weekly active users, reaching a high of 144K, then slightly declining to 123K.

almatar: Book Flights & Hotels had a varied download trend, starting at 27K, peaking at 34K in late July, and then dropping to 13K by the end of September. Its weekly active users mirrored this trend, with a peak of 70K in late July and a decrease to 45K by quarter's end.

Finally, Booking.com: Hotels & Travel maintained strong weekly downloads, starting at 36K and reaching an apex of 36K again in late July, before tapering off to 17K. Despite this, the app consistently led in active users, with numbers ranging from 609K to 777K.
